The production of polyurethane slotted screen panels begins with the preparation of raw materials, primarily involving polyols, isocyanates, and necessary fillers and additives. Depending on the intended application of the screen and the characteristics of the material being screened, the formulation is adjusted to precisely control the polyurethane's hardness, elasticity, and abrasion resistance. For high-wear environments, reinforcing fillers may be added to enhance abrasion resistance; conversely, for wet or agglomerating materials, flexibility may be increased to prevent hole clogging. The raw materials undergo rigorous weighing and mixing to ensure a uniform chemical reaction, thereby forming a polyurethane matrix with stable performance characteristics.
The prepared polyurethane mixture is then poured into pre-designed screen molds for casting and molding. The geometry of the slotted apertures is precisely controlled by the mold, ensuring consistency in slot width, spacing, and alignment. For large-scale or multi-layer screens, a segmented, modular casting approach may be employed to facilitate subsequent assembly and replacement. During the casting process, careful attention is paid to venting and preventing air entrapment to avoid the formation of voids or defects that could compromise screening accuracy and screen strength. Following molding, the polyurethane undergoes a curing process under specific temperature and time conditions to achieve the desired mechanical properties and abrasion resistance.
Upon completion of curing, the polyurethane slotted screens undergo demolding, trimming, and surface finishing to remove excess burrs and ensure a flat, smooth screening surface. Subsequently, rigorous inspections are conducted to verify dimensions, hardness, tensile strength, and aperture precision, ensuring that every screen panel meets technical specifications. Certain products may also undergo additional testing to assess their abrasion resistance or corrosion resistance. Once approved, the screens are packaged according to specifications to prevent damage during transit; product manuals and usage recommendations are included to ensure that customers can achieve optimal screening results during installation and operation.
