Cleaning Methods for Polyurethane Slotted Screens

Routine Cleaning
During daily operation, polyurethane slit screens should undergo regular cleaning after the equipment has been shut down. First, use a soft brush or bristle brush to gently sweep away residual materials from the screen surface and the slits-paying particular attention to areas where wet or sticky materials tend to adhere. For powdery or fine-grained materials, compressed air can be used to blow away debris and ensure the slits remain unobstructed. During the cleaning process, avoid using sharp or hard tools, as these may scratch the screen surface, thereby compromising the precision of the apertures and the overall lifespan of the screen.

Wet Cleaning Methods
For materials that are tightly adhered or have become caked, wet cleaning methods may be employed. Remove the screen and rinse the surface and slits with warm water or a mild detergent; if necessary, use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the surface. After cleaning, allow the screen to dry thoroughly to prevent residual moisture from causing polyurethane degradation or fostering microbial growth. In the chemical or food processing industries, ensure that any cleaning agents used comply with relevant safety standards to prevent chemical corrosion or product contamination.

In-Depth Maintenance
Conducting periodic deep cleaning of the screen can significantly extend its service life. During equipment downtime, remove the screen to perform a comprehensive inspection of the slits, removing any stubborn blockages or accumulated deposits that are difficult to dislodge during routine cleaning. For screens that have been in long-term service, specialized cleaning tools or ultrasonic cleaning equipment may be utilized to ensure that the screen apertures are completely clear. Following a deep cleaning, inspect the screen for any signs of cracks or wear; if any damaged sections are discovered, they should be promptly replaced or repaired to maintain screening accuracy and ensure uninterrupted production.
